Data has always been one of the keys to success in our industry, but more and more it has become the speed of availability and the sharing of this data that has become a primary need.  In the past, the 3PL industry was responsible for receiving and shipping product and then reporting the activities to the manufacturers on a daily, weekly, or possibly even monthly basis.  In today’s environment, 3PL’s must be capable of sharing real-time information easily integrated with multiple systems.  The level of data that we send and receive electronically has grown exponentially over the past 10 years and the future will hold more of the same.  We no longer simply move product in and out of our warehouses, we now move information at the same rate.
